In today’s post I came across an article showing off a group of designers that came up with an idea for furniture prosthetics. I am not a big fan of the extremely bright green color, but it is a great idea. Let me know what you think.
Always at the vanguard of design, 5.5 Designers, have again surprised its followers with a line of designer furniture prosthetics. Sure, they are all bright, bright green, but that’s part of their charm. And a bright green crutch, prosthetic seat, suture kit, or grafting kit will not only give your furniture back its function but give it a little flamboyance!
The Prosthetic Seat…
… is a one size fits all (approximately 15″ square) prosthetic treatment for a broken chair seat that has elastic straps and hooks to keep the transparent green seat in place on almost any chair. Rehabilitation accomplished!

The Chair Crutch
Broken leg? A crutch is just what that old chair needs, and you can adjust this crutch to the same height as the other chair legs by lengthening either or both of the screw fittings on each end. Extensions can be made from approximately 16.125″ to 17.75″ and the diameter of the base is 1.75″. Saving your floors from scratching is important, so these crutches are covered in rubber discs.

The Furniture Suture Kit…
… contains a material covered elastic that’s almost 6 feet long. It can be woven through drilled holes in cupboards, servers, breakfronts, or bookcases to provide a “door” to cover its contents. Plastic tips are included to interface with the holes.
